Hi:

A friend of mine is looking into a 1988 190 5cyl diesel. I'm afraid that I don't know enough about the unique pitfalls(if any) of these styles to be of help to him. The car has 135K, and is reported to run and drive well. We plan to look at it this week.

Any suggestions?

Yours has about the same mileage mine had when I got it 3 months ago. The only prob I am having with mine is an intermittent rough idle. I like smaller cars; the 190D was perfect for me.
