What does the dealer charge for repairs?
I am curious as to how much the dealer charges for various repairs. What have you paid the dealer to do?

Just like everything else as the Mercedes dealer - if you have to ask how much it costs, you can't affford it.
I have only bought parts from my dealer, they have never worked on my 300SD. They have worked on my wife's ML320, and I still can't talk about it. |

The only thing I've had the dealer do to my 300D is a headlight aim adjustment, and it was FREE!

Well, most MB dealerships charge between 85 and 105 an hour is my guess, they go by the MB factory "rated amount of hours for a particular job" manual. Some jobs, such as the sway bar we replaced on our 83, they said would take 17+ hours + Parts....over $2500
We did it ourselves, and did lots of stuff the dealer never would have done in the process, parts amounted to about $650(we replaced a ton of stuff), tools/heating appliance maybe $175, energy used to heat and light the garage while working: roughly $80 is my guess, between 3 tanks of propane and a few hundred kilowatt hours of electricity Job total: sub $1000 take that stealer!! We still have rust work and such to do, and need to send it off to mr whunter for a welding job on the rocker panel/jack point. Our view was that if the ENTIRE repair adventure was $1500, then it was a success, and it will certainly be that. It may have taken forever, but it was worth it.

I once paid an arm and a leg for a repair. I'd give all the details, but would take me a long time to type it with only one arm.
