Does any one know where I can find the text emblems for the rear of a 82 300SD?

They are on ebay quite a bit should not be hard to find. I changed mine to 300SD (L) and Turbo Bio-Diesel (R) but keeping the old badges to go along with the car one day

I may have some for you. I can't remember which ones I have. I will check when I get home.
Also the mens's mall aka junkyards are a good place to find emblems. That where I have found many.

How did you go about changing it to "Turbo Bio-Diesel"?
I've been thinking about doing the same thing, but would only do it if it looked like a stock emblem...

I had them made, but troubled with which version to keep permanently "TURBO BIO DIESEL" is a bit Long "BIO DIESEL" is short. I will figure it out one day.

Yeah, I attempted this and it was going to look like crap. I too the "Tur" off of Turbodiesel and was going to try and out an "I" inbetween the B and the O. But it didn't work out so well, so I gave up.

My plan was to find a turbo-diesel emblem...cut it up to get the b,i, and o...and then piece it together somehow with my current "diesel".

Don't know how yet...not really too high on the list of to-do's, but someday.

Someone with time on their hands (I imagine) could figure out a mold for these, and market them to the Bio-Diesel-Benz crowd...

I kind of like them without any badging on the trunk lid. When I paint mine I may even shave the star.

If you can't figure out what it is by looking at it then tough for you!

That's sort of where I am going with these two design proto-types. I may have to 300SD TURBO then BIO-DIESEL to balance.

i have a rapid prototyper at school that uses ABS plastic to make anything i want as long as its no bigger than 12x12 inches and 36 inches high.. someone pop me a solidworks .dwg file and i can make it happen.. just itd have to have body filler over it to smooth it out and paint it chrome

i also have a vinyl sign cutter .. it cuts what ever from one solid sheet of color.. if someone made a black and white logo of the mercedes shop emblem i could totally make vinlys for cars in any one solid color.. itd be a fundraiser for my engineering class

BTW the emblems are not chromed...they are polished aluminium
