What A Nice 300SDL!

WOW, this is one nice 1986 300SDL! It looks like new. I wish I'm in the market for one. With the years and miles (158K), I wonder how the former owner can keep it looking like this.

Note: I'm not associated with the buyer in any way.

My favorite color combo. Guess that dry desert air helps.

Another One!

This is unreal, here is another great looking 300SDL on Ebay! They seem to come out of the woodwork in a bunch. This is a good time for somebody looking for one. Low miles too.

This Caliber of MB, is just a dream in Michigan! What a beautiful car! Maybe another reason to consider only a California, car.

On the first one....the oil change sticker says the oil was changed at 149,224 miles on 4/10/02.

It's now almost 4 years later and the car has 158,223.

So are they saying that the oil hasn't been changed in 4 years while the vehicle has travelled almost 9000 miles exactly?

Hmmmmm....picky I know, but they pointed it out!

that is the type of seller you don't find very often, with 100% positive feedback and not running Private Auctions
OTOH I can't understand why they didn't bother to take a picture of the engine bay? Maybe they are not interested in the power plant but I like to see whether a 603 still has the nasty trap oxidizer on it or not. I've seen several on eBay that still had them installed. A car with a trap on it after 20 years to me is a car that hasn't had the proper attention to the engine, especially since MB will remove/replace them for free!

No engine compartment photos of the second one.
I'm always looking to see that the trap oxidizer has been replaced.

Two nice looking cars, though.

How NOT to buy a MB Diesel:
Know little or nothing about diesels or Mercedes Benz.
Get the WVO fever.
Drive 70 miles to a used car lot in the country.
Buy the car without having it inspected, because it seems like a good idea at the time....
I'll be back. I'm gonna need help.
I love this car already!

You should ask the seller about when the oil was changed last. It looks like someone has been peeling at the stickers. Besides not every oil change gets a sticker, for instance when I change my own oil there is no sticker although I do save oil receipts in my records. If it is really damaging for that engine to go that amount of time/miles between that oil change could be the subject of a long thread by itself (not suggesting such a thread )

Is anyone on the list bidding on the top car (Las Vegas) ?
I do not want to compete with anyone on the list, makes no sense.

Link to the white broken one.

If anybody cares. I went and saw this car, and the donor.
The white car being offered is a salvage title.
I looked underneath and noticed the right tie rod bent, it takes pretty
nasty hit to bend. That pretty much put and end to further looking.
Rear bumper looked... not right, like someone had tried to remove it,
or maybe it had been hit, the trim wasn't right. Passenger interior door panel
is cracked at the top, telling me that it spent way too much time in the sun.
Very little interior care. Could be worth $750 though.

The donor car has no front bumper, headlights, hood, no seats,
no taillights, has 4 wheels and 4 flat tires. So it does not roll.
An engine that cannot be started because of broken oil pan
(broken from floor jack supposedly).

I like my donor cars rolling so I can move them around the shop and yard.
I like my donor cars complete so I can scavenge odds and ends.
The white car would make a better donor for some things.
