350SDL have exteneded glow relay?
Do all 3.5L TD's have this extended GP relay?
Anyone know if I could use standard GPs with it, or do I need the extended units? Thanks!

As far as I know it will use 'standard' GPs, which are kept energized for a longer period of time.

I believe bosch released some special glow plugs to go with the longer glow plug deal.
I know when the plugs on the SD used to get glowed too long AFTER the engine was started (regular style) they got ate up pretty fast...we are talking 3 months. If you look in the pictures of the updated relay/GP setup, you'll notice a name on them. Can't remember what it was but its something specific. Check it out |

Hrm... maybe I'll snatch up this relay tomorrow. I'll sleep on it this evening (or morning, whatever ).
I really don't want to change GPs out AGAIN as I just did it, so maybe the relay will sit on the shelf for a while until I feel like swapping the plugs.
