Anyone with an auxillary tank for sale?
you know those aluminum wedge-shaped ones from the oil embargo days?
i started a thread about this a month ago after buying one off ebay. the seller basically jerked me around for a month and emailed me this morning to say that he had shipped it with a trucking company (after telling me twice before it had shipped already) and they crushed it. oops. sorry. anyway, so i'm looking for one. for a W123 sedan. if anyone has one to sell me, pm me. thanks!

Not to hijack this thread but do these tanks have baffles in them? I just got a marine tank for my Veg conversion that fits perfectly into the front of the trunk but has no baffles. I'm trying to decide if I should put some in.

Quote:
The lateral stresses on the fuel pickup line are considerably more with wvo than they would be with gasoline or diesel fuel and, depending on the material the line is made of, probably more than it was designed to handle. This will likely lead to premature failure of the pickup tube. If the tank is rectangular and the pickup tube is vertical, rigid and placed near the end of the tank (as most are), I would seriously consider installing baffles. Good luck, Jim

I too would like to find a decent spare tank for the W123.
The only thing I seemed to find was $1200 tank with kit. Preferring to fabricate all my own parts except the tank, would like a source for the tank only. Is it possible to use a second W123 fuel tank and mount it behind the first up in the trunk ?

The bottom corners of a stock tank would probabley have to be modified clear the wheel wells.
