w123 diesel drivers - How much milage are you pulling out a tank?

Just checking to see what kind of milage everyone is getting. What kind of driving style do you have (lead foot? Petrified of speeds?)

My 300D normally gets around 25 mpg at highway speeds (75-80 mph), so I get over 400 miles per tank. I usually fill-up at about 1/8 or 1/4 tank left.

I've never run it down much past 1/4 tank, I've never gone past 388 miles from fillup to fillup. I get about 23MPG in 50% hwy. 50% city driving, so if I ran it down to empty, it would take about 470 miles according to my calculations under current driving conditions. My driving style is not leadfoot, in other words I don't floor it at every freeway onramp and green light, but I give it the Italian Tuneup at least once a day if conditions permit it.

I get up to 500 miles per tank - and the warning light has still not come on. I average nearly 30 mpg on my 130 miles/day commute. 55-65 mph. At one point i nmy commute I hit 70-80 for a couple of miles and once in awhile I'll do an Italian tuneup if I've got a good leader.

At 30 mpg, I should get over 600 miles from a tank, but I'm not brave enough to try.

As it is, I have to fill up every three days. I know I can get 4 days (520 miles), but I'm worried that if there's an accident and I have to sit for a while in the cold I won't have much margin.

25 Mpg

I get 25 MPG. I usualy run wait until the light come one to fill up. I froget how many miles and gallons that is. I stopped checking after it came out to exactly 25mpg the first three times I calculated. My spedo dosen't work, but speed dosen't apear to be a factor. I have an 80 300CD with an 85 turbo engine.

probably 65% city 35% highway (fast highway) I'm getting a solid 23 mpg. I usually fill up around 1/4 tank at 330 miles.

Always fill up at about 400 mile mark and usually put about 14 - 15 gallon in depending on the type of driving.

I'm at 210 mile and exactly half a tank before. Last time I checked I was getting 28 MPG with a few diesel leaks that have since been fixed.

shucks.. makes me really sad reading all your mileages....

due to probably bad traffic, and a little heavy footed.. i get only about 300KM for about 50L...i dont usualyl trust my gas guage.. so i fill up every 300KM and the fillup ranges from 48L-51L...this is purely city driving....

doing some conversions.. am i right in saying 28MPG is about 11km/l???
1 mile = 1.6km
1 gal = 4L??? or about 3.8L??

i can't even reach that consumption even if i put an egg between my foot and the pedal!! or maybe i should take an out of town trip during the holy week here.. where there are no cars on the road so i can get that kind of mileage...

do wagons have 60L tanks or 80L?

28 mpg = 11.9 km/L If it makes you feel better this tank was about 90% at 60 MPH.

I get 20 mpg, mostly city driving. Went 347 miles on this last tank and pumped 17 gallons. The mileage went up after adjusting the valves.

I always get 22-25mpg or so.....it varies..... 80% of the time I am a severe leadfoot, other times I won't be, but its rare.

Generally I go 300-400 miles between fillups, mainly it depends when I go past my gas station I go to....I'll be going past on friday, so I'll likely fill up around 315 miles at that point....usually takes 15-17 gallons to get it to the cap.
