Door Lock Trouble 300SD
83 300SD - One (Front Passenger) door lock only works (with vacuum) in the LOCK cycle. It locks with the speed and and force of the other 3. It will not vacuum UNLOCK but will mechanically. It starts to unlock but staggers and only moves 1/8" upward. Pulled the door panel and lubed lock assy.
It doesn't bind anywhere. What's going on here? Partial vacuum leak? Lock assy worn and requires more vacuum than it has available? Working so well in LOCK mode makes think away from vacuum. I gotta get a vac gauge/pump. Thanks, Doug |
This system uses pressure in one direction and vacumm in the other. I'll try to find my notes on the system as I have the same car.
