Thumbs up fuel guage

I just fixed my fuel gauge problem. I did try it one time before, but I didn't shake it long enough. Just got the benz out of the shop and decided to fix it yesterday. It was finally a nice somewhat warm day. I let the cylinder drain out and did wrap it in some newspaper and just started shaking and shaking. Finally I heard something on the inside loosen. Then I let it air dry and re-installed. Now the gauge shows 1/2 tank, where before it was at a 1/4. I'm sure its working correctly now, but tonight will be the test when I go to fill it up! Keep your fingers crossed.

thank you for all your help on this, and I will be asking more questions in the near future!

What did you end up shaking to fix it?

I shook the fuel sending unit that was located under the first aid kit that goes into the gas tank.
