The results are in!
I did 3 runs today, here are the results:
1: 78.7HP-121.1TQ No ALDA boost 2: 96.3HP-134TQ Normal 3: 96.1HP-137TQ Normal, 1200rpm start It was not what I had hoped for as far as testing. They had a SuperFlow dyno and ran with 2nd gear. My TD used a DynoJet and ran in 4th gear. Very different dyno machines. The superflow uses electric to control the load vs Dynojet uses a fixed mass drum. I was also suprised to find that I am only running 10.5 psi boost! |

thats very cool, thanks for sharing...
is there any sort of correction for your altitude? would you maybe get 10% more (HP?) @ sea level?

Your BHP loss computed from your BHP of 120 at sea level and Elevation of 5280 feet is 19.01 HP loss. A turbo should make up all or most of that by 3000rpm. |

So, you saw about 95hp and 130ft/lbs at full blatt?
One of these days I need to go run the wagon now that the manual is installed. It will be an interesting comparison.

ForcedInduction,
Was this with your 115 intake manifold or did you convert it back to stock?

I'm sure wikipedia is quoting Mercedes Benz for the hp number. Of course this was probably for a new engine which I'm sure ForcedInduction isn't using

Uh, 125HP is at the engine crank, just like every horsepower number ever published. About 20% loss measured at the wheels is considered normal. He is right on the money...

Yeah, I thought those runs were pretty good for a stock engine that's traveled long.
Assume a 20% loss then it's close enough to 120 hp with 170 lb/ft of torque. Not bad, really.
