I can't be much help with the pictures. I've used Picasa to resize them and it works for me, but I know there must be better ways than that. Still look forward to the pictures, I think that's a worthwhile effort.

Sorry......

Unable to help you there, with the photos. I am way behind the times and don't even have a digital camera yet.

Another option for you is to sign up for a free account with an image hosting service. I use http://www.imagecave.com/. Then you could upload your pictures there and just post links to them here. It's a convenient way to share some pictures with a higher level of image quality than you can post directly on the forum. I use them to host images for eBay auctions.

It would also be nice to put a few (small) images directly in this thread, though, that could "live" here more or less indefinitely.

If I understand your post correctly, the transistors you changed are the ones attached to the heat sinks. Are those the new "beefier" heat sinks? I haven't removed or opened mine up yet.

I wonder if those might be the output drivers for the servo. I read on one of the websites, that rebuild MB cruise controls, that there is a problem where the bearing lubricant, in the servo, liquifies and causes shorting. Maybe this is a factor in amp failures.

yes the transistors are bolted to the heatsinks. the black heat sinks are MUCH bigger than original. scroll up and you will see what it looked like before. i stood them up and added the giant heat sinks.

kmaysob,

That posting with the "photo of the original heat sinks" does not seem to have a picture attached to it. Can you re-send that one?? Do you think that it is pretty easy to reverse engineer the circuits from the tracing on the back side of the board? Did you do that to accomplish your fix?
