Well, If you did'nt know - Texas is the center of the universe, not too far for a good 123 donor

Seems I recall my friend paying about that much for a new alternator to be installed. It'll make a great parts car, or might run again with some TLC.

I bet someone from the forum will end up with it.

Yeah, there's a distinct difference in the stitching pattern appearance between leather and MBTex in the W126s, but I've found the stitching pattern appearance is the same on W123s with leather and MBTex.

That's the most worn looking MBTex I've seen on that 240D, mine has over 350K miles and numerous "sits" and it's still looking quite well.

I'm pretty sure it's leather. MB-Tex has a more plastic feel and wears better.

Howdy from the Republic of Texas -

Just to let ya'll know:

Shot the seat with my ol' S&W 45.05 -, damn bullet ricocheted and dented the MB-TEX headliner.

I still think it's leather, so I'm going to get my Winchester and see what happens with a 240 grain.

Bighat....

Now you know down here in TX when bird hunting we use bird shot, Ask Cheney what # than back off 30 yds and shoot. If pellets dont penetrate you KNOW its leather.

The type of cracks showing on the various surfaces of the driver's seat would certainly indicate Leather. Whereas the hide of the 'Nauga' just seems to finally wear off of the backing material.
