Spare 300D parts?

Hey there, thanks for reading.
I'm converting my 240D to a 300 motor, and I need a few parts to complete the job. I need a main pulley, the one the came with the new motor was damaged and the one off the 240 is different. I also need air cleaner parts, as I think the 240's air cleaner assembly doesn't seem to fit. I have to look for some diagrams that show the layout of the air cleaner on the NA 300's. I'll probably make for a pick and pull type place tomarrow. Oooh, does anyone have a spare 300D euro driveshaft? Hehe.. I had to ask. Oh, how about the wire harness, the segment from the glowplugs to the relay? That's all I can think of at the moment. Please let me know if you have any of these laying around, and what you'd like for 'em.

[QUOTE=driad_98]how about the wire harness, the segment from the glowplugs to the relay?

If you don't figure this one out, you could have a "manual" system. I did that some time ago on my "79" (80 eng). 15 amp push button switch located lower, left from steering wheel, so you can crank and push the button. I used a Ford starter solenoid, its wired through the GP light on the dash, of course. No relay to crap out

Thanks for the tip! I hope to be able to sort it out with plug-ins. I think there's going to be plenty of splicing as it stands, already. Something about different diameter exhaust system for 240D's and NA 300D's... etc etc etc. Cheers. Sady, I'm not certain, after talking to a loval MBZ salvage specialist, that just any pulley will work, so I'm gonna have to check it out.. could you take a pic and email me? a couple of angles, maybe. (it's held on by 6 6mm allen screws)

On my old 300d I bypassed the relay and just put the most massively rediculous 60amp buttons I've ever seen under the dash. No solinoids or nuthin. It would get slightly warm, but never hot. The epitome ghetto rigged.

Hey there, Robert! I'm not sure what all differences there are between the US and the Euro models, but I figure with a few pics we should be able to determine what's what... the pulley off the front of the motor, the crank, that I need is 3 vee's, two large and one small. The pulley is a total of 8.5mm tall. If you have the glowplug/temp sensor wiring harness, I could use that... Do you have the air cleaner assembly? The one from the 240D doesn't seem to bolt right up... not sure what I need, all I have is the intake manifold which has three rubber dampers attached. Let's see.. I think that's about it. Oh, the throttle linkages on my new one may be wonky, I'll find out asap. I've also located a guy in Emeryville named Peter Alders, who apparently has a huge amount of used parts for W123's... he may have everything I need, including the short driveshaft. So I'm crossing my fingers.

I'm gonna see/talk to him on Monday, and I'll report back with my findings.

Thanks for the support you guys.
