Exhaust Leak

I just bought a worn out 82 300sd. There are lots of problems with this car to work out, but I've decided the first one I'd tackle is this terrible exhaust leak that makes the engine sound like a jackhammer. I can hear the leak, and see the resulting smoke coming from behind the air cleaner, but I cannot locate where the leak is coming from. The pipes look solid. I felt around the flange right below the air cleaner, and didn't feel anything. Where else should I be looking?

Yes, it is a turbo. Which one is the flex pipe?

Under the air cleaner connected to the rear of the turbo. Also make sure to check the crankcase breather hose that goes from the valve cover to the cleaner. Mine had a tear in the under side that I couldn't see. It drove me crazy trying to find where that smoke was coming from.
