Coupe and Sedan seats interchangable?

Can sedan front seats be used in a coupe? Are they the same? / Do they fit?

Ahh, a better question. Can coupe seats be used in a sedan?

you wouldnt think so, because in a coupe they gotta flip forward, but not so in a sedan

You COULD probally do it, but Id personally go from sedan seats to coupe seats

Unless you mean back ones, which they should be the same, but I really dunno

the backs

Coupe seats are different, the bottom is longer. Unfortanatly the rear seats are different as well, hard to find nice black replacement covers.

You could probably make them work, but they are different. The worst thing is the sedan seats dont flip foward.

The seats in my coupe and sedan are almost the same except that the coupe seats fold and have a vacuum mechanism to lock them in place when the car is running. The cusions and seat backs are the same otherwise. I used the same custom seat covers on both cars and they fit identically.

actually

the seat cushions are different on a coupe. the roof line is about 2" lower and the back of the coupe seat bottom tilts down more so you sit lower. also the back seats are different. i am not sure exactly how on the 123 coupe but on my 126 coupe they are recessed into the back and seat bottom more. i suspect the differences in the 123 are similar. the back seats from a sedan might interchange but you prob will run out of headroom. fronts ditto.

So, just to make sure I understand, the bottom of the seat (assy/frame I guess) is longer on the coupe, therefore it will not bolt into a sedan or wagon?
If someone who has a coupe and a sedan could measure and verify this. I looked at a coupe that was crap, but had really nice seats(my interest is the front seats). My wagon seats are leather, and aren't that great, so this could be an important factor in a couple of Mercedes that I am in negotiations for.
