"LCA" is lower control arm. I was asking Pete about the procedure to replace the guide rod bushing with the arm attached.

It sounds like you need to simply replace the upper ball joint and the guide rod bushing on the side with the problem. No sense replacing all kinds of parts unless they need it.

parts

I was going to order the following:

- an upper right control arm that has the ball joint (I think includes the upper inner arm bushings)
-two upper outer control arm to torsion bar bushings (they are cone shaped on both sides) and ride down near that ball joint

The one that baffles me is the part that controls wheel caster. There is a guide rod mount kit or a guide rod repair kit. Not sure which one to order.

Does this sound correct?

Yep, that's it. The repair kit has some items missing as compared to the guide rod mount kit. Maybe Pete can comment on it.

Looks like the repair kit is for the lower trailing arm. Looks like if I wanted to do a complete front end rebuild on that side and eventually both, I would buy
-2 upper control arms
-4 bushings (conical shaped)
- the lower control arm bushings
- two of the guide rod mounts
-two of the guide rod repair kits that go on the lower control arms

I was just wondering what a front end reubild entailed. It makes sense now.

But my turkey syringe full of red high temp grease that I pushed into that upper control arm rubber cover has completely stopped all the noise and binding of that ball joint. TURKEY FLAVOR INJECTOR TO THE RESCUE!
