IF YOU WANT TO RUN WVO/DIESEL (this is the easiest)

Find your WVO source. First I let mine sit for a week or two so all the sediment settles to the bottom. I then siphon the brown liquid off the top. I filter this through a pillowcase. Depending on your source you may want to now boil this oil to remove any water. (some say this is not a good method but it works)

Let it cool and mix with Diesel.

When I go to fill up with diesel, I take along about 10 gallons of my filtered WVO. I dump directly into my tank then add the rest with diesel fuel.
In the summer months you should have no problem running 25% WVO/75% Diesel.

But have you had any wax problems? Ive had my wvo get a wax formation that clogged the fuel filter. This was at a 50/50 mix of wvo and diesel. And many say mixing diesel with wvo isnt a good choice because it forms a wax that will clog your filters. Ive witnessed it first hand.

So i do 80% wvo and 20% if its cold out or 90%wvo and 10% rug if its warmer. I also add 2oz of diesel clean white bottle the anti-gel one just to be on the safe side.

If you dont want a wax then use kerosene instead, that wont create the wax with wvo and thins the wvo just as good as gas.

Weird of me that I didn't mention my location in the first place. I'm in Belgium, Europe. Climate is a bit to the cold side, but we still get warm summers. In general, no big temperature differences over the seasons.

I'm still a bit confused about what all the possibilities are.
- I can built a two tank setup, with which I can run on 100% heated WVO
- Or I can make a blend (which seems to be not as simple as it speaks) with 'it' and diesel in my basic tank.

These are about the options, right?
Right now I'm mostly intressted in the latter option. Perhaps in the summer I can focus on a two tank setup, but not for now.
What is possible and what not? Mixing WVO with diesel, or SVO with diesel? Just to mention it, Biodiesel is not available here in Belgium, so I guess I can rule that one out.

I don't have a source yet, but I'm working on this.
Lets say I make a 20/80 blend between WVO and diesel, would it work? Or do I need to add gasoline, acetone, octaneplus, or something?

I'm really appreciating you guys helping me, because I'm really intrested in this subject.

(P.S. My english is not perfect, so sometimes I have difficulties understanding the chemistry terms and names, but I hope I'll learn... )

greetz guys and thanks again for the links!

OK Matteus; You need to find a source. Do you have any pommes frites shops nearby? I would love to have access to that type of oil here. I will walk you through this step by step, from gatherimg the oil to filtering, blending..etc if you like. You can PM me.

Thanks guys for the helpfull replies. I've learned alot so far!

I think my first step will be the gathering of all my materials/tools and indeed a source.
Austin, yeah there are a few 'belgian fries' ( ) shops around here, I'll see how I can deal with this.

But first... School, jippy!
I'm in my first year of Automobile Technologies, here in Antwerp. A lot of scientific classes, but hey, part of the package... hehe.

I'm really looking forward into realizing this project. Hope I can find enough free time to dig myself in it.

Regards,

matteus

matteus you mention using b20 in the same phrase as wvo.

mixing wvo with diesel does not make b20. it makes a % split of wvo and diesel. yes you can do it but in a cold climate the wvo will clog the lines, pump and injectors.

b20 and any b with a number after it means biodiesel. we ran my wifes car on b20 a year ago thru out the winter and never had a problem. it was station bought and special additives produced. sadly the place stopped selling biodiesel. i make my bio d when it is warm, like over 50 f, and all the cars love it.

as you can see from my signiture one of the cars also runs on grease. all the cars whether on bio d or grease are quieter and have more power.

This guy Kent in Washington State has come up with the most elaborate WVO conversion I've seen yet.
http://www.**************.com/

You can clic on this link and clic "new arrivals" on his home page.
This is a well designed "on the go " om board filtering and heating conversion kit.

Pretty elaborate , but professional looking...especially the last stage filltering wand to suck UCO out of a dumpster.
