What is this part?

The car is an 85 Euro 300TDT. The part is the on the driver's side behind the washer bottle. The cap screws off revealing what looks kind of like a round trailer hitch plug. The wires run out the bottom into the wireing harness. (the car has no trailer hitch)

Thanks

Peter

Yeah.....in Europe the PUSH the trailers .....

It's the 9pin diagnostic socket/ rpm amplifier I'm guessing.

On an '85 model I do not believe it is the tach amplifier, but a diag. socket as previously pointed out.
