I live in nova scotia and can get a lot of aftermarket parts locally but far more expensive than purchasing in states. Depending on your situation it makes some sense to own or at least know where there are some parts cars in your area if possible as well. At least you are close to border and oregon has a large population of mercedes cars I have noticed. So support in that area should be good. Replacement aftermarket rotor napa canada about 43.00 last time I checked. Some car parts stores over 50.00. Twenty dollars napa US with tax a couple of years ago. The mindblower was kit for a master cylinder was over a hundred napa canada but same kit ebay 9.95 everyday. Now the one bright side is if you can find a volkswagen aftermarket part supplier. He will have access to a broad range of aftermarket mercedes parts in canada at pretty good prices. Locating one should be no problem. Either look in yellow pages or ask guys driving older diesel volkswagen cars in your area. Same aftermarket suppliers for volkswagon turn out mercedes parts as well. Look for parts suppliers on ebay canada under mercedes. Quite a few of the sellers may have a full time parts buisiness. Examine their other parts for sale listings to find them. Hope I helped you a little.

Try Lordco
Altrom parts are available through Lordco. You'll have to order them in, and they usually take a day or so to arrive.
http://www.altrom.com Also, have you tried the local Mercedes dealership? Yes, I realise that this site is provided by Fastlane. I shall use Fastlane for parts which I cannot locate locally. I have purchased MANY items from the U.S. over the years, and now try to avoid the process if possible. My reasons are concerns I have regarding the costs and delays of shipping. If I use the postal system, the items take up to 6 WEEKS to arrive, and I pay a $5 Canadian handling fee, on top of the cost of postage, and the applicable taxes when I pick up the item at the post office. If I use UPS or Fedex, I'm charged a ridiculous "brokerage fee" which has no relation to the value of the item. In one case, I was charged a "brokerage fee" of $43 Canadian on a package of light bulbs I ordered from the U.S.. I also had to pay higher shipping costs, and all applicable taxes when the items were delivered. Again, try Lordco. |

I've had good luck with parts from Peninsula Imports in Oakville Ontario http://www.peninsulaimports.com/ but I also find that my local M-B Dealer can match or beat prices for some items. If you strike up a relationship, some Dealers will even give you a discount. I get 15% off at mine. The prices in the US are usually far better (fastlane is great) but the hassles of getting them into Canada (time and extra charges) can be a real pain. This is usually no fault of the vendors but the system itself.

No X Border Hassle
When I purchase parts or anything from the US I have them sent to a Receiving company in either Blaine or Point Roberts. For a couple of bucks they will phone when your stuff is in. Unwrap it, through it in the trunk then buy some diesel fuel. usually cheeper in the US. declare the fuel. no charge.

Coil Springs in Canada?
Hi Guys
I'm in the Greater Toronto Area, and I'm trying to get some replacement springs for my 85 190E. One broke and one is real saggy. I can find the rear springs, but no sign of front springs anywhere. I was quoted $250 on shipping of 2 front end springs from the US, which is more then they are both worth. A friend of my dads suggested Albion Autoparts, they are online through the US and they are the ones who quoted me $250, but they have a location here in Toronto and I'm going to check it out today after work. Does anyone have any clue where I can get some front end springs for my w201 in Canada? Altrom does not have them, and I usually get everything from them. TIA xp190

Thank you So much Cornblatt
I started calling places to find out if they have springs and got so many No's I thought I'd go to the dealer and pay $200 per spring. They didn't have the control arm repair kit, but that I can get from the dealer Thanks so much.
