well with 2 sets and no answers for the time frames you and Nazrat are talking about the benifit of the doubt has been more than given....its time to mention his username...its now almost the middle of march and no excuse to be 2.5+ months without any answers from him. I'd be upset after a week...after 2.5+ months I would be going totally ape**** about it.

I agree with BHD. You need to expose him so no one else gets screwed if you care about the members of this forum.

Perhaps if any other menmber lives nearby he might be induced to check things out for the site. There are a few reasons this episode could be transpiring. Just cannot see the possibility of abscounding with a set of used injectors as valid in itself. Of course the cravat is I am sometimes wrong. Perhaps major medical issue kind of thing or worst has happened as someone mentioned on this site to him he seemed a straight up kind of guy. There almost always seems to be an understandable reason for apparent unusual behaviour with people in general as we tend to be creatures of habit.

It can be very frustrating when there's a problem and one is trying to communicate with someone solely through e-mail. No way to tell, really, if the messages are just sitting in a derelict mailbox, or if the person on the other end is deliberately choosing not to be responsive. It can be maddening to feel that one is shouting down a gopher hole.

I agree with the comments from barry123400 about the variety of non-malicious reasons for which such a breakdown in communication can occur. As even an occasional eBay seller, boy, do I have a few stories about some crazy communication problems!

One suggestion here for nazrat: if you have a name and a physical address, you might try using one of the free on-line services to see if you can pull a telephone number. No guarantees, but a phone call might make a world of difference in figuring out what the situation is.

I sent him a set last Nov; I was actually more interested in having the injectors pop-tested and rebalanced, since I cleaned them myself not long ago, but lack a pop-tester. Since the fee he charges is symbolic, and so it's a hobby more than a business, I did ask beforehand whether he still does this and has time, and got a positive answer. I took quite a bit longer than I expected (about 5 weeks) to get the injectors back, however. Communication was though e-mail, and it wasn't the best it can be, but it wasn't a black hole either. It just seems like he means well, but is incredibly busy. I appreciate fully that one's life is often demanding, and under the circumstances one perhaps should not expect a very quick turnaround, I only find it unfortunate that this wasn't something that I knew up front -- I'd have taken the injectors elsewhere.

I spoke with him tonight on the telephone. He still has your injectors and is apologetic regarding keeping them for such a long time.

Expect them back soon with an e-mail response.

Advise me again if there is no follow through.

What should we do to have injectors balanced+cleaned? I have a few sets for the SDL I would like to have done (take the best 6 out of my 18) but I can't have the car down for three months.

Is this something a local diesel shop could potentially do?

Another source for injector repair

Here's another source for injector repair
It is near my home. I have never had them do work for me, but the owner used to keep a couple of diesel Benz's at the shop. I think he used to work on them.

http://www.southeasterndiesel.com/

These folks are an authorized Bosch center. They said if the nozzles are good then it would be $35 each to clean outside, totally disassemble, clean, replace springs or shims, balance set. Turnaround is 3-4 days. If they need new nozzles then it will be $100 each. The nozzles run about $50 a piece. He says all they use is BOSCH because they have had problems with everything else. He said Mercedes injectors and BMW injectors rarely give much problems but they see the domestic Ford, Cummins, Dodge, and tractors from Romania sold by LONG all the time because the injectors are crap.

Their website has pictures of their facility. Pretty state of the art.

To find an authorised Bosch center near you call:

Robert Bosch Corporation
2800 S. 25th Avenue
Broadview, Illinois 60155
(708) 865-5200

I called them and they gave me the number of the only authorised Bosch center in Orlando, SouthEast Power Systems.
They do everything from service/repair/parts for injectors and turbos.

I used Lone Star Fuel Injection in Ft. Worth. The kind of place you walk into and think "man, this is an injection shop".

Just to be clear, he did a good job on the first set, I just lost contact with him before the 2nd set was returned. I appreciate all of the effort guys.

Ever investigated into costs per injector? I need two sets cleaned and balanced.

Why clean the injectors for 100 a pop?

Buy new ones for 50 bucks and be done with it. I know they may not be perfectly balanced, but they should be darn close!

At least for my 2 cars they are 50 bucks each.
