linkages out of spec

look at these pictures this is the main linkage from where it comes out of the firewall.. connecting to all of the fun stuff on the valve cover.

how it looks after i push the linkages back into the hole on the firewall

after a couple days of driving .. then i push it back into the firewall

now is their something loose like on the pedal that needs to be tightened perhaps?

Kind of hokie but try tieing a string around the lever arm that is slipping and connect it to something solid on the fire wall. That would probably get you to work and back, or untill you can spend more time looking into the problem.

I see you are missing one of the retaining clips and the piece at the firewall is probably worn.

Don,

Agree with Dieselgiant, that's my initial thought too. Also see your return line between injector 3 and 4? If you need to shut off your engine in an emergency it might prevent the stop lever from going all the way down. There is a tab on the bottom of your linkages where a longer line could run.
