K&N oil filters, wadaya think?

I was browsing through an aftermarket catalog and saw in addition to K&N air filters, they had oil filters. There was no reference to how long they effectively filter oil nor did I spend the time to research them. Plus I doubt they have them for MB cars. I just thought about sharing this product with our fellow forum members to see what you thought about it since some of you out there use their air filters.

Well, considering that their air filters are about the worst you can purchase as compared to stock........I'm not too keen on trying their oil filters.

Yes....exactly what I want...more oil flow....I mean *cough* what?

No you have to spray it with air and then put it in the housing...its backwards of the air filters silly! Cmon haha.

Wonder how many people are buying those things....

I do NOT know anything about oil burners, but I had good experience with K&N oil filters on my 1991 300SE straight six, the same motor as in alot of E class MBZ cars. These small filters, regardless of brand, CANNOT filter that much due to there small size. They key is to change the oil & filter at least every 3K miles. The one thing I did like about the K & N filter is that they all have a 1 inch bolt attached to the bottom of each filter. Very easy to remove. And yes I am too old to really love the metric system. SAE rules.

On that note, everyone knows that canister oil filters are the BEST. The is true with the V-8 gas benzes and also the V-8 general motors prior to 1968.Remember those cansiters with the hard to install gaskets you old time bow tie guys??

I wanna see an independant filtration test on these. Not because I'm considering buying them, but because I need another good laugh.
