Thumbs up SDL owners, quick Klima Relay Question...

Can someone tell me how many pins on are their relay? It appears my vehicle has the wrong relay installed.

I have one row of six and just three on the top. Such as...

P X X X P P
P P P P P P

P's are the pins, X's are the missing pins.

Thanks!

I checked the '87.

It has a replacement Klima, aftermarket, so the p/n is not applicable. But, your p/n does not match the p/n on the '86.

Furthermore, the '87 has eleven pins. Six in one row and five in the second row. The missing pin is one of the pins in the center of the second row. The only pin that is missing matches a missing socket in the receptacle.

So, I believe that you are correct.......wrong Klima.

Very odd, I wonder what this one goes to! It has a big Reman stamp with 2/98 on it. I guess I'll just toss it up on ol' ebay.

I just purchased a new one for $72 shipped, seemed like a decent deal to me.

That is odd. Some of the earlier Klima relays for the '85 vehicles had less pins because they didn't have all the functions that the 603 requires (rpm checks and speed checks for the belt for example)

My SD was built 10/84 so I don't have that Klima, at least I've never seen it under the hood. Maybe I'll throw it on the shelf of mystery parts I've found.

It'll be here late next week. Hopefully there's plenty of R12 still in there, I picked up a case from ebay as the SD needs a full 2.9lbs and the 420 probably will.

Oh jeez, 134A. I'm going to convert the F150 back here too as the compressor's internal valve sounds awful. Hopefully I can get some cash back for the existing 134A in there currently.

Maybe in your climate you could use 134A and be okay, here in Texas (one of the gates to hell in the summer) 134A will not suffice in these vehicles. The SD was converted by the PO with a reman compressor yet the expansion valve and the dryer were not changed.
