What do I do?
Ok so I have a small dilema here.
In my 115 300D the yahoo before me installed an 10 sub (cut out the back board) and put in some 5x9's in the top by the back window and some 6" speakers in the front. When I first got the car I bought speakers to fill the holes that he had left, but later on found a working stereo (orginal becker europe) in my 240D. Now here is the question. Should I patch up those holes and put the original stereo, or buy a black CD player that will match up and use the speakers? It is a tough question but it would be easier to get a new CD player and use the speakers than patch up. Also the 240D gets the brunt of my love so I guess I could always leave it with the 240D where it came from. ?#1 What would you Do ?#2 If you would get a aftermarket CD Player what would you use. I notice a few people talking about blaupunkt and they make a black faced one that would blend in well. Thanks

My '77 240D had a Becker (OE) am/fm cassette. The speakers in the car were blown. I replaced the front 3.5" (OE) with some Memphis 3.5" front and Memphis 5.75" in the back. Bypassed the fader and ran new wires to the head. I was so proud of myself. Until I turned the Becker on. Not enough muscle to power the speaker transplant. I was bummed, but not broke.
Went to Circuit City to buy a Alpine head unit. Saw a Eclipse that had more outs for $159.00 installed. I also purchased some 6x9' Polks for $129.00, placed them in the felt covered wood boxes and put them in the rear window, after careful removal of the first aid kit and bypassing the new Memphis 5.75" in the rear. Hooked up a Sirrius satelite radio, tuned into the new head unit. "SHAZAM" I got MUSIC. Thats what I would do.
