Steering Box Overhaul

Has anyone overhauled their steering box? this kit is for sale on ebay.

That kit really only addresses leaking items. If your box is sloppy steering, then the gear and bearings will need to be replaced.

You can buy that kit anywhere. I'm sure FastLane has them. It's a far cry from an overhaul though, it's just a reseal...

Thats just the re seal kit. Got one for the SDL to fix a leaking pitman arm shaft seal.

Won't affect play though. Cough up $500 for a rebuilt box if you want to fix that.

Steering box overhaul-7 hours labor too much?

My Indy says the steering box needs overhaul, as it leaks slightly. Steering is tight however; no slack at all.

He wants 7 hours for the job. Is that good?
