Arrow OK I need Help

87 TDT and a oil leak, I can't locate it. Where do these leak? Seems to not leak for awhile and then leak. Looks a little wet under Trap Ox towards front. Or can the leak be under inj pump? How about timing chain cover? Can they leak there? It is very hard to look under this thing as everything is covered underneath and too much crap up above. Has anyone found "common" leaking areas? Thanks

you will have to clean it off really well and then possibly put dye in it. there could be a million places it could be leaking from

You still have a trap ox on there? There's alot of places it could leak from, I think the valve cover is common, oil level sensor on the drivers side of the pan, the pan itself, crank seals, dipstick tube. Are you sure it is leaking oil and not some other fluid? You can slide a piece of cardboard under your car and then pull it out to check the next day, it's easier to tell what the fluid is when it's on cardboard as opposed to the ground. My best luck with finding leaks has been to give the engine a good cleaning with Simple Green from the bottom up. After it is clean and sits a little while it is usually easy to trace the leak back to it's source.

It's not leaking, it's just marking it's spot!

Yup it's oil alright, I guess I will have to take the pan off the bottom and try to see where it is comming from. The valve cover was loose so I thought I had it but apparently there is another source.

Clean the whole engine and then you can find the leak. Trying to find one with a greasy engine is not good.
