Jumping Back Into The Fire!!
Well, after wrecking my '87 300D in March I've been looking for a replacement. I found a 1987 300DT Wagon (247000 Miles) that i just bought for $900.00.
Needs a few things, Differential & Bushings, Glow Plugs (#1 is shot, will replace all), Control Arm Bushings, replacing Ball Joints because I have had bad experiences in the past, and charging the A/C. The car sat for about a year, charged the battery, cycled the GP's and it started right up. Need some clean up but the paint looks good, only one rust spot. Will post pic's after the clean-up, probably late next week. Joe

Since you have a lot of different projects to do on this car, my comment would be that you are likely to be able to replace just Glow Plug #1 without removing the intake manifold - without too much difficulty.
That would save you a lot of time getting the car ready to run well. Ken300D
