Cool By way of introduction...

Just wanted to introduce myself...

I'm new to these forums, but not to diesels..

I was an active member of the TDIclub.com until a couple weeks ago when my beloved 1999.5 VW TDI bent a rod on the Dallas North Tollway... Cause of death unknown... May she rest in peace.

Here's a link to the story with pics..

... and more to the point, pics of the 1983 300TD that I bought to replace her... (an ebay good deal)

http://forums.tdiclub.com/showthread.php?t=132306&page=4

As I did at the other forum, I will let you know that I enjoy helping folks who have these cars, so anybody in the Dallas area who needs help or wants to do some work on their old merc, or VW TDI for that matter, let me know...

I'm sure I'll get more from this forum than I can give back.

Thanks!

Richard Miller

Welcome to the forum, Richard.

We have a good group of folks here that can probably solve just about any problem on an older M/B.

Good luck with the TD purchase.........91K is especially desirable......... and we look forward to seeing you again on the site.

Welcome Richard. Sorry to hear about the TDI demise, but it opened the door on a vehicle I believe you will enjoy dorking with. The desire for more usually creeps in somehow.....
I'm just east of Dallas, and always have my eyes open as I drive around the DFW area. Have worn my tolltag out on the tollway and 190 too.
I'm in the category of "more likely to need help" than the help offering mode, but I'm always willing.
Lots of other good folks in and around our area, but I only know them from here so far.
Jimmy

Wow, went to your link and checked out your wagon. Very Very nice! I really like that color, and I see you have the rear head rests (and probably the 3rd seat?). Very nice wagon. You're in......
How far did you have to go to pick it up?

Fortunately the wagon was here locally in Denton...

My old tdi only had 124,000 miles... Not sure what happened to the engine??. hoping to find out from the guy that bought the car...

The engine didn't have any performance mods...

By the way dieselgiant... thanks for the box of parts that arrived the other day, and thanks for the o-rings that you threw in for the oil canister shaft..

Richard
