New Injector Problem

After having all five of my injectors replaced on my 91 300D (about 6 months ago), the number 2 began leaking. My mechanic has just installed a new one and says it is leaking worse than before. The crush washer was installed correctly and the torgue was right on. Any thoughts. Thanks!

Explain the 'leak'.........bubbling from the cylinder head boss ? ...fuel running down injector ? ...injector body leak.?......what ?

The leak comes from where the injector sits in the engine--like its not torqued enough and has not formed a tight enough seal.

Cracked pre chamber maybe? Those engines are very similer to my 603, so the pre chamber is screwed into the head with a sealing ring. The ring may be leaking or the chamber itself may have a crack in it.

Not a big deal they run about $60ish last I checked but you need a special socket to yank them.

Is it diesel fuel leaking ?....or combustion gases....if combustion, it may seal later with carbon build up.

As Hatter said...you may have a prechamber cracked..or worse...stripped threads in the chamber boss...it happens.....if there is no fuel leak or coolant, I would leave it for now. The two tools required are available from eBay but I would see what happens in a 1000 miles or so.
