dash clock

It's a 1995 E300D, not that it should matter for this one. The clock stops at times, often for hours at time, but:

It seems to keep good time with the engine off, but stops intermittently when the engine is running.

I've changed the fuse and checked the contacts which is about the only thing I can think of.

Any suggestions out there?
