85 300SD Wont Stop

I have an 85 300SD that suddenly will not shut off. The only way I can get the engine to shut off is to open the hood and push the STOP lever!
Any suggestions?

you have a vacuum leak at your ignition switch or vacuum shutoff actuator.

Have you done/ had done any maintenace lately? If so, it may be as simple as locating a loose vacuum line under the hood.

(BTW, engine vacuum and door locks are separate systems on this car.)
