Per the picture and explanations, mine doesn't seem to have that banjo fitting. Am I just missing it?

There are no banjo fittings on the lines from the manifold to and from the overboost protection valve on the 603. The 617 engine has the banjo fitting.

Cleaned end

OK, so I took off the little hose fitting that goes into the manifold, it was a little gunked up, cleaned it out good, drove the car, no change. Still need to rev to almost 3000 rpm to get moving. Do I need to clean up in the hole that the fitting came out of, or do I need to remove the intake and adjust the ALDA or could it be a fuel filter. Sorry for all the questions.

If the end of the line was gunked up, then the intake manifold fitting might be also. A pipe cleaner with a little brake cleaner does an excellent job.

How much of the line was clogged? If very much, the over boost protection switch may need to be cleaned also.

We don't know if the performance of the vehicle is not acceptable or the expectations of the driver are unreasonable.

Can you kindly do a couple of 0-60 times with a stopwatch and report back?

0 - 60 Times

Hi Again,
Well we took it out and did 3 runs. The times were in this order, 40 sec, 32 sec, and 32 sec. Whats the verdict?

Well, that's an unmigitated disaster. You've got some serious issues and we need to start with the basics.

1) Fuel filters, primary and secondary, .........changed when?

BTW, we're looking for an ET of 12 seconds.

Filters

Just got the car last week, haven't done much to it. Is the primary fuel filter the screw on just behind the radiator. Where is the secondary?

also if the blue smoke on startup is accompanied by rough running for 20 or thity seconds you may have one or more dead glow plugs.

i agree way too slow! that makes even the legendary turtle the 240d look quick.

The primary is the plastic inline filter before the lift pump.

The secondary looks like a small oil filter and sits at the front of the head on the left side. It's secured with a bolt from the top.

Changing fuel filters

After I put on the new secondary, is the priming pump the lever on the side of the ip that has a red "stop" sticker on it?

Also can the primary fuel filter (the plastic one) be any kind of inline filter?

No priming pump for you.........starter motor is the priming pump.........hence the need to fill the secondary to the absolute brim with fresh diesel fuel.

No advice on that.......I use OEM.

Didn't see big change

I changed the secondary, not a noticealbe change in throttle response, didn't time the run, just drove it. Is the primary filter the little white plastic thing in the bottom center pic on one of my previous post. Its about 3" long and the outlet is at 90 degrees to the inlet. My local Napa doesn't list a filter to replace the primary.
