Should I buy?
1983 300SD, 300,000 miles, silver paint with gray interior, decent tires, new battery, new/rebuilt turbo (Garrett), new KYB shocks, drivers window will not go down, charging system problem. $1200. This was scribbled on a piece of paper from my neighbor who knows the person who owns it. That's all I know about it so far. It sounds like he has to many cars and needs to get rid of some and I may even be able to get it for a grand. I haven't seen it but my neighbor has and says it looks pretty good. The price is unbeatable. I am selling my 84 300D veggie cruiser after June and want a 300SD to start over with so the timing is good timing too. Should I consider this car for a daily driver? I will look at it first, obviously. Thanks again, Eric.

Hey veggie benz,
I don't know a ton about the specifics but I have two 1983 300sd cars. I have not experienced any physical troubles except for a couple minor problems. I would check the rust areas. I hate rust. On both my 300sd's I have rust problems. Make sure that you check in the trucnk under the rear window. The seal goes bad on a lot of the cars and the area rusts round there. Other than that, I have almost a 1000 miles on veggie on one of my cars. If there isn't any rust, the price is great. DK Rust Hater

Sounds good if rust is not prevalent or massive.
