shudder opon acceleration?

1992 300D 2.5 turbo 330,000

It starts about 10mph. to about 40mph. The entire car shudders/pulses. I have done my front and rear flex discs about four years ago.

Only happens during acceleration. Once I get to speed the car rides smoothly.

I have a similar problem...

I have a 1983 300d
I haven't driven the car that much since I bought it, but this problem started recently for me. I would like to know what it could be as well.

Front flex disc and maybe your bearing.

The front flex disc is under a lot of load. It takes the place of a U-joint in domestic cars. You may want to check the rear flex disc while you are down there.

It was a little dirty and took about 2 hours going very slow. You may want to just put the car up and see the disc before you order parts. Mine completely fell apart when I unbolted the bolts. It has about eight grade 8 bolts.

Good luck,

Nick
