New manifold gasket = new car!

Just got my car back after having the engine mounts & shocks and manifold gasket replaced. Yeah, this was a job that I farmed out as I have limited garage resources, at least I did buy my own parts.

But anyway, man what a difference the gasket made! It has so much more power, much less noise, runs cooler, and seems to shift so much better too. Along with the smoothness of the new engine mounts etc. It felt like I was driving a different car! I guess it is the culmination of all the stuff I've done so far (Glow plug update, fan belts, oil change, new tranny fluid & filter, air filter, brake tune up, fuel filters) is paying off. That is one thing that I've noticed with these cars , is that when you put the money & effort in, the gratification is almost immediate.

Now on to the comfort isssues...
