Temperature too low?
81 240D. In the week I've been driving my "new" 240D, I've noticed the temperature never rises more than slightly above 80C. On my 30 minute drive in to work this morning, ambient temperature 57F/14C, at no stage did the temperature rise above 65C. Obviously the gauge might be reading low but I'm just wondering if other's have similiar experiences with 240D's?
- Peter.

80C is just fine. 65C is not. Suspect the thermostat.

Thermostat is incorrect or bad, almost without doubt. You need it to stay just above 80C for best effeciency.

My car used to run at about 60. I replaced the T-stat, now it's 90. A t-stat only costs about $20 and it will more than likely solve your problem.

Be sure to research here and read about getting the correct brand of replacement thermostat. There are brand(s) with bad production runs.
