ALDA question

Newbie question:-

I have poor acceleration from low rpms until about 1800- then everything picks up.

I have found two lines with banjo fittings related to the ALDA, thanks to old postings and looking my 300sd.

One is a short line that goes from the banjo on the ALDA to a cylindrical fitting with other lines and an electric connection, located on the bulkhead just behind the ALDA. this short line on my engine looks pretty clean. The other longer line goes from the same cylindrical gizmo over the engine to another banjo located on the manifold, in front of the transmission dipstick. This longer line is smoky and looks a bit obstructed.

I assume step no 1 is to clean both lines, both banjo bolts, reassemble and report back.

We've been through this before, it stands for:

Automatische LadeDruck Anreicherung

This translates to "Automatic Boost Pressure Enrichment" (more or less) using some online translator.
