Quick Question - 1984 190D Economy
Looking at adding a 1984 190D to the fleet. What kind of mileage can I expect with the 2.2 auto?
Acceleration wise, how would the car compare to my 1984 300SD? |

it should be noticably slower, but the handling of a 190 is pretty engaging. better mileage and performance with a stick, but prob not that many around.

Hope this will give you an idea, actually the mileage varies a lot even in almost identical cars (one of my neighbors gets close to 45mpg same car as mine and my son's 2.2 gets only 30mpg at Freeway). On my 1984 2.2 on flat Freeway not exceeding 70mph 39mpg solo driver, driver and passenger at 75-80mph around 35-36mph City only 24-27mph max. John |
TWR, thanks for the info. How does acceleration compare on the 190D and your 300SD?
|
The 190D it's slower than the 300SD I think like comparing an 240D manual transmission against a non-turbo 300D although the 240D will be very slow going up hill and the 190D is faster, the max speed for the 240D at last mine is about 80 Mph on a flat road versus 95-100Mph for the 190D but you will get used to it.
I like the size of the car in traffic and specially the fuel mileage. |
