The search is over

Yipeee, I just bought my first Mercedes. I found almost exactly what I was looking for, a 300TD wagon. It doesn't have the 3rd seat we wanted but if it's as good as the seller said it was I can live with that. Bought it from Gerry Goodman in Ft. Worth, sure hope he is reliable. It's the first car I ever bought sight unseen, going down on Greyhound and drive it home.

I think I'm in love

We just got home from Ft. Worth with our 84 300 TD wagon. Wow, am I impressed, hard to believe a vehicle this old can look and run so well. The 15 hour bus ride was worth it. The car was sold new in the Ft. Worth/Dallas area and has been there ever since. It has a clean Carfax report, and all of the service records seem to confirm the Carfax 143,000 mileage figure. It's very clean inside and out, the best I can tell it is rust free, starts and runs very smooth with no smoke, and drives great. On the 800 mile trip home we experienced no rattles, shakes or shimmies, no road or wind noise, even the few minutes I ran it up to 90 on the turnpike. I loved the 25 + MPG we averaged on the way home. Other than some very minor cosmetic things the only apparent flaw is the cruise control, every thing else on the car works. All in all, at the moment, I am very satisfied with my first MB.
