I need to reinstall clutch fan on 93 300D. I order the fan with the clutch. Do I need to know anything special in reassembling the clutch fan other than taking the bolt from the old assembly and reassembling. I called the Mercedes stealership and they wanted $80 to reinstall. So, I thought maybe there is something I need to know before I reinstall the part. Thanks

It seems so simple to remove and reinstall a bolt, but it's not. You'll need some specialty tools, such as those found here:

I searched all over for the stubby 10mm, and honestly can't remember where I bought it. Maybe from a web site, because the dealership I tried insisted that they didn't carry it even when I gave them the part number. They called a tech in and he swore he didn't have one. But on my 606 there was no way that a standard socket was going to fit in there.
