Would you consider one with a FEW more miles on it?

The only way you'll find one for $6500 to $8500 is www.craigslist.com or if you spot someone in a parking lot with one and ask him if he wants to sell it.
WHOLESALE, a car of that description will fetch $9000 to $10000. I know, I bought mine a little above wholesale and have seen several since then to confirm what I paid. Doesn't mean they're not out there - with patience, you could get real lucky and find exactly what you're after.

I stumbled onto my '95 when the PO mentioned he had traded it in on a Jeep Liberty. The dealership mechanic had no business attempting to work on the car and consequently made little problems worse to the point they couldn't sell the car, also, they didn't know anything about starting it so the battery was drained. I took it as/is with a sound body and drivetrain and a few little problems. I knew what the dealer gave trade so that was my barganing chip. I got a great deal and it was under $7000 with 159,000 miles. I would expect to give a lot more for one with lower mileage, but IMHO they are worth it. Buy it and you won't regret it.
