240D engine install
I will soon be installing an engine in a 240D and I'm wondering if it's easiest to install the engine and trans together, as I took them out, or trans first then engine or engine first then trans?

With the manuals I bolt up the tranny mount (cross member) and drop engine & tranny in. Then all you have to do when the motor mounts are resting properly is push up the rear of the tranny and bolt up the cross member.

I think that you will have much less headache if you will do the engine and tranny as a unit. Just make sure you can lift the car up high enough for the tranny tailshaft to clear the floor.
