Seal Ring Sources/Alternatives

In earlier times, the dealer always had the metal banjo fitting seal rings (crush washers) in stock and they cost only a few cents. Now, they are over a dollar apiece, and the dealer has to special order them!!! How a MB shop can operate without basic hardware in stock is beyond me, but they claim they don't stock them.

So, does anyone know of a suitable altermative or source. I just had my IP off to replace the gasket and now every fuel line with a banjo fitting has a slight leak as a result of my attempt to reuse the seals. I placed an order with the dealer for my immediate needs, but I would like to have an assortment on hand for futue needs.

Autozoo, O'Really's, Pep Girls, etc.. usually carry them. You just have to tell them to look under brake componenets or they will look at you with a blank stare.;) I usually buy a whole bag of them. If I recall, someone said that you could heat them with a propane torch and this will cause them to swell enough for resealing. Haven't tried this myself.
