Access DENIED

What is the best way to access the cabin central console from the engine compartment? For example, if I wanted ti install some gauges, how would I run the wires from inside the cabin to the engine compartment? The car is a 1987 300D, 603, 124.

on the fuse box there should be some nipples that can be cut off to allow wires to be inserted to the cabin

ditto above. i ran some 10 wires in from the engine near the fusebox, down the wall under the base of the pedals (underneath the carpet) and up into the center console.
