86-87 300 SDL... whats different?
I'm looking to get a 87 300 SDL and notice there seem to be quite a number of 86 300 SDL's available as well. I'm wondering if anyone has a list of all the differences between the two cars.
I'm psyched, but I fear it will take me forever to find a good car for under $6k. I'm hoping to keep the milage something under 200km, and get a car in reasonably good mechanical shape. With what few cars there are on the market, pickins can be slim. -rektide |

No difference.
For $6k or so with a bit of looking you should be able to turn up a nice example.

There are a few minor differences.
The '86 and '87 have different exhaust systems. The '86 has no cat. The ABS connections on the '86 are slightly different than the '87. I'm sure there are other little things that have changed, but, I haven't found them all yet. |

MB did an updated to the ABS sensors. So they would be different if they were changed in the past.

The trap ox as stated was an '87 thing, the early '86s can have 4x6s still in the rear fill panel. Aside from that, I can't see much difference between my 420 and the SDL.
