Hey hey its colder in Michigan than in New Jersey....plus, we all pump our own fuel....this is all because people in Michigan like to prove that they are the most rugged in the country by living here, and its true.

A ridiculous one, if you ask me. It's the law in New Jersey too.

Apparently the unions there (NY and NJ are pretty much run by unions... and the Mob) have convinced the local politicians that the "average Joe" is incapable of safely dispensing his own gasoline/diesel fuel, even though everyone in the other 48 states have managed to figure it out. Therefore an unskilled, minimum-wage genius must be hired to do it for you.

Ever watched somebody leaving Oregon for the first time? It's pure laffs watching them attempt to figure out the pump operation.

That's pretty funny. A perfect response!

Actually, I do get kind of annoyed when there's only one diesel pump, and there's 8 other unoccupied gas pumps, and some schmuck in a riced-out Honda is mindlessly using that pump... or some SUV or mini-van is sitting there unattended, while mom casually browses the convenience store, and her 5 Ritalin-addicted kids run around the place raising hell or playing video games...

OK... Rant over.

And once that van/SUV/ricer just got moving, another overtook you to the pump...and it's one with a rather LARGE fuel tank...

At least most diesel pumps seem to pump faster than the gas ones (probably because its not explosive/as dangerous) so even if the person before you has a bigger tank (like a truck/Pickup) they get filled up pretty quick. I can fill my tank at full flow at Speedway in less than 2-3 mins if its real low to start with....I slow down towards the end though so it doesn't foam up and splash out on me....

I love the MB gas tank, almost never splashes out on me.

Very much better than the old Chevy caprice fuel neck. that stupid thing almost always splashed. oh, and the vehicle is nicer than the caprice. and the engine is nicer... I guess everything is better on MB than that old bolt buster.

The station I uses has two diesel pumps and about 6 gas pumps. Drives me nuts when someone in a gas car is using the diesel pump and I have to wait. There may be 6 open gas only pumps but no they have to use the diesel pump.

Then give me a stupid look as I idle behind them.

My favorite are the delivery truck drivers that try and sneak in as the other car pulls out. Are a lot delivery truck drivers jerks or is it just me?

Probably just trying to keep on schedule. That reminds me of a story. About a year ago, I was filling up at the diesel pump when I noticed the delivery van at the opposite pump rolling away with the nozzle still attached. I ran over and found no driver, so I jumped in and put on the brakes before it crashed into some new ricer. Funny thing was that the auto tranny in this thing did not have "Park." Apparently the driver had gone into the store without setting the e-brake.

I guess "park" would have helped to!

Well its a bit annoying after you sit behind a gas car for 10 minutes waiting to pump diesel, and some delivery truck trys to force his way in. Dodge Ram tried doing it to me once to.

I guess they figure screw the rich jerk in the MB he can wait.

Naw, I bet they just did not know you were getting diesel, and they were trying to get to the D pump. and they were annoyed you were in their way.
