Finishing up...

Got my cruise back from GDL and installed. Got the new seat cushion covers installed complete with the pool noodle fix. The drivers seat is like a big ol lazy boy recliner seat now and doesn't lean to the left anymore...feels really good.

The cruise is real nice, smooth, holds the speed like the needle was glued to 70 mph! Accel/Decel works perfect...my only gripe, typical German precision! Going downhill it kinda rocks a little as it fights to maintain the set speed, but it never exceeded the set speed. Pulling up hills or level road it was back to smooth as silk again.

Turns out these two items have been the most expensive part of this project at around $550.00....also turns out these same two items are the greatest comfort increase so far ( thanks to the great advice and information on this forum)!

Next week we hit the road for a big loop around South Texas, time for this Benz to earn some bucks.

You might be able to adjust out the downhill rocking with the linkage. Try lengthening the linkage to the actuator (last one in the chain) or wherever you have accessive play. If the actuator needs to push/pull the linkage too far before the IP is affected, you will get surging.

Just a thought.

1983/300CD...well, it is not a surge, if fact it is the opposite! As the car gains speed going downhill, the unit backs off the fuel just a hair, again, again, again....and in a very precise way.

Linkage adjustment is simple enough, I will give it a try!

I've also found that lubricating the linkage helps smooth out the cruse control "hunting" somewhat.
