Need new seats for w123.

My recently purchased 83 300D must have been driven by an elephant at some point, I swear you can feel the sliding rails when you sit down. Is there any way I can find a donor car and swap leather in? The brown/grey plaid is HIDEOUS. This is on a "palamino" interior I think. My wife's 80 300TD def has palamino and the 83 has something inbetween brown and palmino (perhaps my wifes car just had more UV?).

there are a lot of threads on reworking the existing seats...pool noodles. Just finished this project in my 300TD, ditched the horsehair pads and covered the springs with heavy canvas, two layers of 1" foam, plumped up the side bolsters with foam strips, and pool noodled the springs. It was worth the time, effort, and money....seats feel and look much, much better. May sound crazy, but now that seat is comfortable, the car seems to handle better...actually it just that I am up higher in seat and no longer wallowing around behind the wheel.

I got my covers from www.hirschauto.com , then there's ebay, junk yards, and other suppliers where a cheaper deal may be found. the hirsch covers were very well made and installed real easy.

Life is too short to ride around with a spring stuck up your butt!

I want to see a picture of this plaid interior!

I also wish to be first on your list of folks to send them to whenever you do change them out Plaid car interiors are fabulous, we love them!

Once, I bought a car just because it had plaid seats

A bottom seat frame for a 123 is 324$ at Performance products. Not to bad of a DIY job

I found the height adjuster, that kinda solved the problem. However the vinyl in my wifes car is pretty decent but the springs are about shot. Might be Noodle time.

Come on by and check out my parts car. The seats in in are in decent shape, no tears and they feel good.

I never got how to use the height adjuster... I pull it upward and push and pull the seat but nothing happens.

Probably stuck. Perhaps someone sitting in the rear seat could provide a more meaningful solution .

Friend of mine has an '83 300D sedan parts car with immaculate seats and door panels in Bardstown KY. Color is dark brown MBTex. At 150k miles the owner hit a fire hydrant and totaled the front end. Send me a private message if you're interested in contact info.

Gotta slide the seat all the way forward - then pull the lever to raise or lower the height while leaning your weight forward into the steering wheel.
