Replacing nylon throttle bushing in '84 300D

123 Chassis, 617 Engine.

I removed the throttle bushing and holder that is screwed the firewall today- connects the pedal lever to the rest of the throttle linkage. It looks like this: Link The only part that need replacing is that white nylon bushing. Here are some pictures of mine:

As you can see, that bushing is totally gone. I can either make a new one, get it from the above link for $$$, or I'm hoping this is a standard part I can get at an auto store. I don't have any plastic round stock, so I'd prefer to get it from an auto store. Does anyone know if this is a standard part? I've called around, but all of them want me to bring it in- so it sounds like it's fairly obscure. Do any of you know where these can be had locally?

The car has been rendered undrivable by removing this part, so I'm hoping to get this fixed fairly soon. Thanks!

What about a junk yard? Had I known you needed this, I would've removed it from the 300D that I just "donated" to them.

Ah, too late, oh well. I'm not sure I'd want to replace it with an old old part anyhow. I can fairly easily make a new one on the lathes here, but I don't happen to have any plastic stock. I suppose I could make it aluminum and keep it greased, if need be.

Heh...I can always go and get it.....shouldn't be more than 5 bucks. You can buy a lot of those for the price of one new one

Call the Parts Department at your local MB dealer. If they don't have it in stock they should be able to get it overnight.

Spent an hour or so on the lathe making a new one out of HDPE on the lathe. Screwed up the first one. I had to make it from sheet stock because there wasn't any round stuff. Eh, it works great though- much less sloppiness in the pedal now. I imagine that it will be 100% if I can ever figure out the correct way to get the rest of those linkages to the right lengths and tensions.

Just thought I'd update with my solution, an HDPE replacement made on the lathe. It's not perfect, it's generous in all dimensions, and it was annoying to make out of sheet stock, but it works.

Pushed in, normal position http://www.botmedia.vrogy.com/ned/benz/300D_01.JPG
Pulled out to show new bushing. http://www.botmedia.vrogy.com/ned/benz/300D_11.JPG

I am going to put a shaft collar on the end of it to keep it from being pulled out at all. I hope that shaft is 8mm- I just happen to have an 8mm shaft collar.
