A lot of oil on the valve cover could indicate excessive blow-by, or just a leaking cap or vent elbow. Without running, you wouldn't know. But at $900 it is worth it just for the parts - nice interior, desired wagon parts.

Best ad I've seen in a while. $500 for a 1982 300D:
https://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/pts/6012140560.html
Engine noise could be something simple - vacuum pump, alternator fan hitting bracket, or severe. No photos of engine bay or interior, why? Could be a clueless seller who never opens the hood. Parts alone are probably worth $500. I have two 300D's already and no more parking space.

1984 Mercedes 190E 2.3 5-Speed parts car - $800 (san bruno) hide this posting
1984 Mercedes 190E

Hey CL,

I have an unregistered COMPLETE parts car, 1984 Mercedes Benz 190E 2.3 with a 5-speed for sale.

PERFECT FOR A 5 SPEED SWAP FOR YOUR AUTOMATIC190E.

The engine blew the oil pump which scored and pitted cylinder #4.
I have the complete car, but the engine and transmission is out.

I was going to swap the transmission into my 190E 2.6 but it's been long since I've sold it.
I am only selling the car as a whole. I need it out of my property so I can continue other projects.

It has the single nozzle hood, along with the single wiper with the mini wiper.
It has manual seats! Swap this into your broken 190e power seats.
Beige interior, baby blue exterior.

The car is still registerable, but it will take some work to do so. Text me or email for more information.

Bring a trailer or tow truck PLEASE, again, I am not parting the car out. I am selling it as a parts car.

I am asking $800 negotiable, no low ballers please.
SERIOUS BUYERS ONLY, I am busy with school and work and don't have time to waste. I will try to make ends meet but please serious buyers only.

I hope he gets his price! makes all of ours worth more. These cars are under priced and should be selling for that amount when in great condition. The days of hipsters with grease are over. These are now becoming collector cars.

Could be "a little overpriced" but a very good example of a nicely refurbished car with low mileage. He's "fishing" and with a car that nice why not see if someone will bite. I'm sure if I wanted to bring mine up to that standard I could spend that kind of money very easy, especially if you had someone else do the work. However we all know that when selling you can't expect to get all you put into it. (Not to mention your time and effort).

P.S. He could use a tool kit and a Warndreieck.
